| I built a deck this past week. I had some help, but for the most part I was by myself building a deck. Around a pool. I had a lot of alone time while I was hammering away in either the blistering heat or the sopping rain, trying not to get dehydrated or electrocuted. I had a lot of time to think. And when I was just about finished with the deck, and I was laying the final deck boards, I said to myself, "You know, it's really not that hard." And it really wasn't. Everything was drawn out beforehand, everything pretty much went to plan, it just took a little hard work and common sense and BAM! I looked like a bona fide contractor. I already have 3 other people who want decks. And building decks is good money. I guess the point is, it's (anything's) really not that hard if you're willing to do a little work. So go build a deck. | | |

| So often in Cubs history we've seen them dominate early in the season and then fall off as the postseason approaches. This year, the Cubs aren't doing so well up front, and I hope that means we will dominate as the postseason approaches. Maybe. Then we'll be the true underdogs, the true Cinderella story, the true come-from-behind, and the True American Dream. Maybe. | | |
